About Us

Who we are

Jean Ribault is a Florida chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC). This chapter was formed in December 1998. Our diverse membership, which includes two NAWCC Fellows,  primarily reside in North East Florida and South Georgia.

We meet regularly during the fall and winter months with presentations of interest to people who enjoy the magic of clock works and precision watches.

We also host a very successful mid winter regional conference with  presentations, horological courses and marketplace to buy and sell watch and clock related items.

Membership

Membership to our group is open to any NAWCC member.  You are welcome to attend a meeting as a guest to see for yourself why it is worthwhile to join.  The annual chapter membership fee is $10 which allows you to attend all of our meetings, meet fellow collectors or horologists and have access to the local chapter resources. Reach out to one of our executive about becoming a local chapter member.

The NAWCC membership gives you access to national events and the NAWCC Library. See the NAWCC membership link to find out information about joining.

- April 4th

- June 6th

- August 1st

- October 3rd

- December 5th

February 7th

Dave Whiting, a member of Chapter 156 in Tallahassee, will be our Speaker.  He will discuss how he printed and assembled the innovative KiwiCleaner watch cleaning machine using his knowledge of 3D printing. This impressive DIY creation took around 40 hours of precision printing and another ten hours of careful assembly. Dave will treat us to a live demonstration of the cleaning process, along with examples of other fascinating pieces that can be brought to life with a 3D printer, such as the logo for a Rolex or Omega watch. This will be of interest to watch enthusiasts and folks who are curious to know how 3D printed parts can assist in their repair work.

Prior Meetings:

June 7th   2025

Our speaker was  Alan Hanstein, who spoke on Space Watches.  Alan is the Executive Director of the Challenger Learning Center, a fascinating place to visit if you have interest in Space, the US Space program or our starry skies.   Alan spoke at the Tallahassee Chapter meeting earlier this month and his program was enthusiastically received.

NAWCC Florida MidWinter Regional

Will Be Back Again in 2026!

When:  February 12 -17, 2026

Location:  Renaissance Hotel and Conference Center

at World Golf Village near St Augustine, FL.

We missed out on the event in 2024 due to unfortunate circumstances, but we are back on track to hold the excellent event again.

Attendees really enjoyed the venue in the prior year.  The atmosphere was stunning with an abundance of horological goodies found at the mart, a great showcase of American horology, and a full program of talks.  We hope this coming year will be even better.
